By downloading, installing, or using PuckMetrix (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Steve Tannock, the developer of PuckMetrix.
PuckMetrix helps hockey and box lacrosse coaches, parents, and enthusiasts track game statistics.
Voice input is transcribed on your device by default. If you want the more accurate enhanced transcription, you turn it on in Settings, and the audio you record is then sent to ElevenLabs.
You retain ownership of all data you enter. We do not claim ownership of your data, and we do not hold a copy of it, unless you turn on sync yourself.
If you leave sync off, your data lives only on your device, and backing it up is up to you. We cannot recover data lost to a lost, reset or wiped device, or to deleting the App. Turning sync on gives you a second copy on our server, but as explained under “Accounts and Sync” below, it is not a substitute for your own backups.
Signing in is optional. Every feature of PuckMetrix works without an account — sync is the only exception.
Turning on sync means signing in with Apple. You’re responsible for your Apple ID and for keeping it secure. We can’t reset it or recover it for you — that’s between you and Apple.
Sync is a free service, provided as-is. We work to keep it running, but we don’t promise it will always be available.
The copy of your games on your device is the one that matters. Sync is not a backup you can restore from selectively: delete a game on one device, and it is deleted on every device sync reaches.
Each account has storage and rate limits, so the service stays affordable for everyone. Go over them, and further uploads stop — nothing already on your device is touched or lost.
We may suspend or terminate an account that abuses the service — for example, by deliberately trying to exceed its limits or interfere with it for other users. This affects sync only; the app keeps working with the data already on your device.
Delete your account at any time from Settings → Sync → Delete Account. This removes your account and the server copy of your data. Games already on your device stay there unless you also use “Erase All Data.”
If you record data about other people — including children — you are responsible for having the permission to do so.
You may stop using the App at any time. If you never turned on sync, there is no account to close and nothing to cancel. If you did, closing the app alone does not remove what is already on our server — see “Deleting Your Account” above.
If you want to erase your data first:
Deleting the App removes your data with it either way. If sync is on, your account and its server copy stay until you delete the account separately.
We may change, discontinue or stop updating the App in future versions. A copy you have already installed keeps working, and we cannot reach into your device to remove your data.
PUCKMETRIX IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee error-free operation, accurate statistics, or that the App will meet your specific requirements.
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.
The App is provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited accordingly.
PuckMetrix, including its design, code, features, graphics, and documentation, is owned by Steve Tannock and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms.
“PuckMetrix” and related logos are trademarks of Steve Tannock. You may not use these trademarks without prior written consent.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the App may be used to improve it without obligation to compensate you.
Your use of PuckMetrix is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available in the app at Settings → Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for third-party service failures, changes, or terms violations.
PuckMetrix is designed for hockey and box lacrosse coaches and parents. While the App may be used by families to track children’s sports statistics, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children’s use of the App and for ensuring data entered about minors is appropriate.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution. We will work in good faith to resolve disputes amicably.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the British Columbia Arbitration Act, rather than in court.
Exception: You may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.
You agree that disputes will be resolved individually, not as part of a class action, consolidated action, or representative action.
From time to time we may offer beta or experimental features. By using them you acknowledge that they may not work as intended, that data loss or corruption may occur, and that they may be removed without notice. Because your data lives only on your device, keep device backups turned on before using them.
